Web 2.0: Cool Tools for Schools….
More resources for using technology in the classroom. Check this wiki out! The categories have been divided into various themes and easily awaits your perusal. I was unable to find the author’s name so I could not tag or give the author credit for this wonderful wiki.
Some of the categories are: presentation, video, slideshow, widgets, storage, audio, organizing, mapping, and more.
I really like the design of this wiki. It makes it really easy to find what you are interested in using.

During my readings this morning on learning pyramids, I came across a Wiki called Web 2.0 Guru! It is loaded with resources and information on Web 2.0 resources and Differentiated Instruction/Instructional Technology.
Cheryl Capozzoli is the author of this wiki. She has titled the wiki, “The Best Web 2.0 Resources for Relevant Educational Technology Integration”. She has done an outstanding job of giving us tools for use in integrating technology with the classroom.
Teachers if you are wondering where to start in using technology in the classroom check out this wiki…..especially the section called Resources..
This is my favorite page……….resources

If you are interested in creating your own web site, check out Webs. Webs offers an easy way to create and maintain your own web site. It is very simple to choose a design and begin. To begin, all you need is an email address and password. Be ready to choose a site address, site title, and template for your web site. You also are able to choose a site category that allows you to focus your web site information to address your current needs for the site you are creating. For example, you may want to create a web site that focuses on your more personal and family interests, or you may have group interests or there is another category for organizations, or small business/professional interests. Whatever the interest, the site category can help you create a wonderful web site. It addition, you can also choose to write your own web site using html only mode.

Today I came across a wiki created by Alan Levine called 50 Web 2.0 Ways to Tell a Story. Wow, what excellent resources. 50 actually more than 50. He has listed slideshow tools, timeline tools, mixer tools, comic/sketch tools, college tools, map tools, and more. The wiki gives the URL addresses and explains what each tool can be used for in presenting stories. This is truly well worth the time to check out the resources.
My favorites are Picasa, Voice Thread, Flickr, Animato, and Slideshare. I cannot wait to try out Google Presenter and many more that Alan Levine has written about.
I have never used Kerpoof but have heard awesome things about it.
Enjoy!

This article will make educators think about what is going on in their schools. Of course, they will recognize and probably agree with the article……..But the real question is…What can educators do about this?????If you are a teacher in the elementary grades, this article is truly worth reading.
